Sorry, but I still cannot reproduce this on either of my Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.6.3 machines even when I select the View :: Nonprinting Characters like you have. Pressing delete with that letter highlighted actually deletes the letter 'i' to the right of the highlighting. I attach a document where the problem is present for me, and a screenshot of the same document showing a letter highlighted in the text. OK I've been through all my fonts and eliminated duplicates, and quit and relaunched NeoOffice. Can you launch the /Applications/Font Book application, find the Arial Narrow font, expand it, and see if there is a black dot next to any of the "Regular", "Bold", or other entries? If so, can you select those dotted entries and then select the Edit :: Disable Font menu?ĭid you find any dotted entries and, if so, did disabling them stop the problem? One possible cause is that you have more than one Arial Narrow font installed on your machine and those two fonts are conflicting with each other. For me, typing or moving the cursor through Arial Narrow text works as expected. I cannot reproduce that behavior on my Mac OS X 10.4.11 or Mac OS X 10.6.3 machines. The work round is simply not to use Arial Narrow, unfortunately for one particular document provided from elsewhere I need to. It is not simply a problem with the font since it works OK in AppleWorks.
